I TALK BACK

We may not see it, we might even forget it’s there, but I believe the biggest battle is going on in the spiritual realm, even as I type. The enemy loves nothing more than for us to begin our days discouraged and defeated, bringing fear and stress into our homes, schools, and workplaces.

Which is what many of us fall into most days.

If your actions are like salt and light in this dark world, it is only a matter of time before you encounter spiritual warfare. The Devil will hurl obstacles and attacks in your face all day long. God challenges us, however, to stand guard and be alert against these schemes, and to stay intimately close to Him.

The Word of God is our sword, and He equips us with strength, wisdom, and discernment through the Holy Spirit. He invites us to spend time in His presence, pressing in to know Him more.

As we begin to understand God’s truth and what is real, we also know more of what is false, and we are stronger to stand against it in the powerful name of Jesus. He never leaves us to fend for ourselves in an evil world, but reminds us that He is constantly with us, fighting for us, even when we cannot see.

Luke 10:19 says, “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.”

This is powerful y’all. That verse right there should change your attitude when you wake up in the morning. No doubt, we are certainly living in enemy occupied territory. But Jesus has given us authority over the enemy!

Praying God’s words back to Him is one of the most powerful weapons against the forces of evil. A practice Jesus made a priority. It reminds us that God knows our way and understands what we face. It allows us to be solely dependent upon Him and trust Him. It guards our hearts and focuses our minds back on Him.

It wins the battle.

Christians need to start talking back to the Devil. God’s people need to remind the enemy over and over who he really is, and the authority we have over Him because of what Jesus did on the cross.

A.W. Tozer once said, “I say, “Yes, Devil, sin is terrible – but I remind you that I got it from you! And I remind you, Devil, that everything good – forgiveness and cleansing and blessing – everything that is good I have freely received from Jesus Christ!””

In our prayer and praise we should talk back to the Devil. I’m asking believers to throw God’s Word in the Devil’s face every single chance they get.

Psalm 44:5 says, “Through You we will push back our adversaries, through Your name we will trample down those who rise up against us.”

Through the name of Jesus, amen? May He teach us, help us, and sustain us. I want to be better for Him, better than I was yesterday.

I talk back to the devil by claiming victory. How about you, Christian?

“My main ambition in life is to be on the Devil’s most wanted list.”  (Leonard Ravenhill)

SO WHAT IS YOUR RESPONSE?

= Are you encountering spiritual warfare?

= Do you pray God’s words back to Him?

= What are you going to do differently?
