Friends, today is the first day of the last month in 2021! As we turn the page on our calendars and behold the month of December that lies before us, I pray we do not forget the importance of remembrance. I pray we do not fail to remember the unfathomable love of our Savior, and the only reason for this season. Jesus.
I can’t help but think of the many individuals who may only embrace Jesus for this short month, and do not plan to do so again until next December comes to us. I think of the individuals who may enter a church building on Christmas Eve and sing the great hymns of Christmas, but exit unsure and uncertain of what it all means for them.
Allow me to say this, all Jesus cares about is having a personal relationship with you. He loves you and cares so deeply about your life no matter how mundane or chaotic you think it might be.
I think about the Christians who may have lost the awe for their King that they once had but lost somewhere along the way, tirelessly wandering due to their lack of wonder for Him.
Allow me to say this, there is no better time than the present to come back to Jesus. To give Him your attention again. You aren’t too far gone to return. Don’t choose to live a stagnant Christian life. There is so much more.
I think about the people, who, just like me, may be searching for the beauty and life that Jesus offers to us and wants us to encounter through the story of His miraculous birth and coming. The individuals who just want to fall in love with Jesus all over again and have a fresh encounter with Him.
Allow me to say this, I firmly believe that He won’t let us down and will indeed honor our desire for Him. He is our hope, and I pray our hearts find their peace and joy in Him.
Hosea 6:3 says, “Let’s strive to know the Lord. His appearance is as sure as the dawn. He will come to us like the rain, like the spring showers that water the land.”
I don’t want to miss what God may be longing to reveal to us in this Advent/Christmas season, and I believe that the way forward is sometimes the way back.
A.W. Tozer once said, “In history, revival was indeed a move of God among His people to bring them back to Him. It seems strange to me that the average gospel church wants to go forward, but forward in the wrong direction. When revival takes place, God brings us back, back to where we left God, where we left our first love.”
So, I invite you to allow God to bring you back to Him this Christmas. Back to His heart and what truly matters in life. The reason He came into this world was to save us from our wretched sin and the misery that pertains to it.
May revivals take place in our hearts and homes this year as we begin where we may have left our first love.
Our family is thrilled to hopefully share a little bit of our hearts with yours over these next days leading up to Christmas, and we are filled with the expectation that the Lord will move in ways that only He can here on the Blog! “O come, all ye faithful,
Joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem.
Come and behold Him,
Born the King of Angels!
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.”
