I’ve found that our personal testimonies can be one of the most powerful things God uses to touch others. However, I’ve met and have worked with so many Christians who act like Jesus and Christianity are boring. That makes zero sense to me.
The God I serve isn’t boring.
So many Christians tell their stories as if they haven’t been changed, and honestly, they act like they don’t care all that much.
Psalm 107:2 says, “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from trouble.”
All throughout Scripture we see multiple times where Jesus tells those He heals and performs miracles for to go and tell people what He had done for them. Others come to know of Jesus because of our stories and what He has done for us when we are willing to show that He’s changed us in a real and legit way.
Charles Spurgeon has a great quote that says, “The Bible is not the light of the world, it is the light of the Church. But the world does not read the Bible, the world reads Christians! You are the light of the world (Matt. 5: 14).”
Do you realize that you’re often the closest thing a lot of people will ever get to a church door? People listen to how you talk to others, they notice if your content with your job, or if your attitude is different at school.
I’ve noticed that people will pay attention if you are sharing something that is a personal thing for you. The people around us will listen if they see that we are actually different than everyone else, and that we are trying to live this “Jesus thing” out.
As Christians, we can’t shy away from sharing the Gospel and how good Jesus has been to us. We’ve got to make things personal.
Christ commands those who have been saved, to say so. He wants us to tell everyone we know, and don’t know, the great news of the simple Gospel. Jesus certainly hasn’t commanded us to just walk into a church once a week, sit in a pew, and then walk out and call it good.
Just to clarify the verse, when He tells us to say so, it doesn’t mean to just say so when it’s comfortable and convenient. He wants us to say so no matter what.
I’m not sure about you, but I want everything I say, and everything I do, to reflect what Jesus has done for me.
Jesus isn’t boring, yet we act like He is. Which is why so many people don’t want to have anything to do with Christianity. I would say the reason we act like He is boring, is because we tend to forget what Jesus has done for us. Just as we discussed in the last blog post.
I want to help you recognize a real-life example of how quickly we forget Jesus. So, I’m sure that everyone on the face of the planet has been seeing all of this stuff on the coronavirus, right?
Well, can I be blatantly honest with you? I can’t stand getting on social media and seeing everybody sharing “funny” things about stinking toilet paper! Are you kidding me people? Why aren’t we panicking that people don’t know Jesus??
How pathetic Church? That’s just an embarrassment to our God.
Why aren’t our Facebook pages filled with the things of the Lord instead of the things of the world right now?
To me, that is a great way to see what people’s priority is. Jesus or the world? It makes me sick that people would rather talk about and panic over the coronavirus instead of talking about and panicking over sharing the Gospel.
The redeemed aren’t saying so, and look at where our world is at right now.
We get so caught up in the craziness around us, that all of us totally forget about what Jesus has done for us. Instead of telling people about that, we spend our time sharing stuff about toilet paper and other trivial things on our social media pages.
That’s how quickly we forget.
My challenge is this… Say something that will affect someone’s life for eternity today. Don’t get all caught up in the things that won’t even matter tomorrow.
If you’ve been redeemed, say so!
“But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect…” 1 Peter 3:15
SO WHAT IS YOUR RESPONSE?

= Have you ever shared your testimony with someone?
= What are you going to do differently?
The Few 
I wish that we weren’t so forgetful . when things don’t go right we forget that God is in control of things . then we start looking to the world for comfort or answers . the world doesn’t have what we are looking for in life . And I think the reason we forget is because we have so much and we think that there is no need for God.
You can say that Jesus is boring if you are not a true believer . Then you are saying that Jesus dieing on the cross to save us from eternity in hell is boring . or when God saved the Israelites from Egypt and spit the red sea ,(man the was a really boring story ,right?) You can not read the bible and then say that is boring . it doesn’t make sense at all . Or maybe I just like to read really boring stuff. After I was adopted I look back and see how God was looking after me all these years and still does, He gave me a family and a home . How can I say that those are the boring parts of my life . Those were the most life changing and amazing parts of my life and Jesus was involved in every part of it . so how can I sit back and say that Christianity is boring.

Amen girl! I couldn’t have said it any better. Our testimonies matter, and we have to share with other people if we want to affect eternity. Jesus has given us a command to say so. We need to get on it! 😉
