CHAOTIC CORNERS

(Post by: Colton)

We all live different lives. I work at a crane company, Lilly works for LifeWise, my buddy is an electrician, and Scott does ministry. Some of us have families, some of us are alone, and there are others that come from very mixed families.

Some of us are introverts and others are extroverts. What I’m getting at here is that in this life we are all extremely different, but I believe the one thing we can have in common is our walk with Jesus.

As the Church, we have allowed the enemy to trick us into thinking that everyone has a different walk with Jesus, but I just don’t believe that to be true. It’s a simple yes or no. You’re either in or you’re out. You either believe or you don’t.

I’m not just saying that if you go to church you are in, all good, no worries. NO! I’m talking about a type of walk with Jesus that makes the enemy tremble when you wake up every day. A walk with Jesus where you can’t help but talk about Him.

This thing is supposed to look different. But here’s the thing… We take Jesus and put Him into our lives where we think He needs to be. We don’t allow Him to insert Himself. We don’t want Him to, because we have everything we think we need in our little chaotic corners of the world.

This is not a go-along to get-along kind of deal where we allow culture and the enemy to dictate our everyday lives. I would boldly challenge you to be the only person in your office that doesn’t cuss. Be the one that doesn’t lie on their timecard. I know everyone else does it, but do you want to honor Jesus or not? Is He King of your life or not?

Yes, we are all different. However, if we are truly saved, we should have a desire to live a life worthy of our calling as Scripture commands. Yet here many of us are, living our lives as if we are lost.

I just want people to be legit. Half-heartedness is a really pathetic way to live a life that’s supposed to honor and glorify the God that came down and literally died for you.

I had a great conversation with a couple of the guys on Tuesday, in Skyline, which is a place we also call our church. We were talking about our lives, and then we found ourselves having a deep conversation about Jesus. Where’s He’s been, what He’s doing, and what we’d like to see Him do. But the whole 3-4 hour church service we basically gave the Skyline employees ended on this basic topic: Being legit.

Being so legit and on fire for Jesus that every conversation turns to Him. Where people apologize for cussing in front of you or saying a raunchy joke. Do you really think your walk with Jesus is making any impact on the Kingdom? I would encourage you to seriously look at your life. What needs to be thrown on the altar to be burnt up by our Lord in order to seriously change your walk?
