A FEW FAVORITES FROM THE MONTH OF JANUARY 2026

(Post by: Lilly Hobbs)

Happy February! January always feels like a threshold month, the deep breath before the year really gets moving. It’s when intentions turn into habits, prayers become practice, and we start to see what the Lord might be inviting us into for the months ahead. For us here at The Few, January was full of honest conversations, stretching topics, and content that pushed us to slow down and live with greater discernment, especially with our 30-Day Community Fast!

This post is a little time capsule of everything we created in January – our favorite blog posts, podcast episodes, and the themes that shaped the start of the year. Whether you followed along in real time or are just catching up, consider this an open invitation to revisit what God stirred in this season and to carry it forward with you as the year unfolds.

Our hope is that this will give you the opportunity to catch up on any podcast episodesblog posts, and/or social media posts you might have missed, as well as be a post you can share with those you know who may be interested in reading and listening to the serious Christian content we strive to create!

Without further ado, here are a few favorites from the month of January

JANUARY BLOG POSTS (OLDEST TO NEWEST)

THANK YOU, DEAR READERS: https://thefew.blog/2026/01/01/thank-you-dear-readers/

Excerpt: Blogmas has never been about productivity for us. It has always been about presence. About carving out space in a noisy season to remember why the Light came, why hope still matters, and why faithfulness, especially the unseen kind, is never, ever wasted. And the fact that you chose to walk through this season with us, is something we do not take lightly.

LET IT HAPPEN: https://thefew.blog/2026/01/08/let-it-happen-2/

Excerpt: From spontaneous coffee dates with dear friends, to bringing Lizzie (our puppy) home, to concerts where we worshiped our hearts out, to getting hired to do a job I absolutely love, to being loved and cared for by a man who is seeking Jesus; I had no control over any of these happenings.

TWENTY-SIX THINGS CHRISTIANS SHOULD DO IN 2026: https://thefew.blog/2026/01/15/twenty-six-things-christians-should-do-in-2026/

Excerpt: 2026 is here, and with it comes the question we ask ourselves every year: How do we actually live as Christians in a world that rarely makes space for Jesus? At The Few, we’ve been thinking about this a lot, and over the years, we’ve learned that spiritual growth isn’t about doing everything perfectly, it’s about doing the things that matter, consistently, even when no one is watching.

COLLAPSE AT THE FEET OF JESUS: https://thefew.blog/2026/01/22/collapse-at-the-feet-of-jesus-2/

Excerpt: We all have a tendency to walk away from Jesus. It is our natural inclination to say, “I’m good Jesus, I’ll take it from here.” I believe, that as men, we have a greater tendency to do this. However, truly collapsing at Jesus’ feet and giving your life to Him is the true meaning behind being “a man.”

WHY WE’RE FASTING TOGETHER – The Heart Behind Our 30-Day Community Fast: https://thefew.blog/2026/01/29/why-were-fasting-together-the-heart-behind-our-30-day-community-fast/

Excerpt: This season has been marked by a growing conviction: we are too easily distracted, too easily dulled, and too comfortable calling noise “normal.” So, Madie and I decided to fast; not as a trend, not as a performance, but as a return.

JANUARY PODCAST EPISODES (OLDEST TO NEWEST)

If You Don’t Listen To Any Other Episode This Year, Listen To This One: https://afewminuteswiththefew.podbean.com/e/if-you-don-t-listen-to-any-other-episode-this-year-listen-to-this-one-s6ep44/

Episode Description: Are you already exhausted by the pressure to “fix” yourself this year? In this episode, we push back against the New Year narrative that says you need a total overhaul to be faithful or effective. We talk about the difference between reinvention and sanctification, and why one leaves us burned out while the other actually changes us. No hype. No resolutions. No pretending. Just truth, grace, and a better way forward. Let’s get into it! The blog post Lilly mentions in this episode: https://thefew.blog/2025/12/31/holy-subtraction-blogmas-day-thirty-one-2025/

Where Has Your Worship Wandered? https://afewminuteswiththefew.podbean.com/e/where-has-your-worship-wandered-s6ep45/

Episode Description: Have you ever wondered why certain habits, comforts, or distractions feel impossible to let go of? This episode dives into the uncomfortable but freeing topic of idolatry, and how fasting helps us identify what’s quietly ruling our lives. We discuss why fasting is a biblical weapon against idols and how it reorients our hearts toward what truly satisfies. If you want to start the year more aware, more dependent on God, and less enslaved to substitutes, press play. Let’s get into it.

Not A Detox. A Disruption. (Join Our 30-Day Community Fast!): https://afewminuteswiththefew.podbean.com/e/not-a-detox-a-disruption-join-our-30-day-community-fast-s6ep46/

Episode Description: What if the things you reach for most are shaping you more than you realize? In this episode, we talk about why we’re starting a 30-day fast, not as a cleanse or reset, but as a disruption of the idols that go unnamed. We explore how fasting reveals devotion, why resistance matters, and how surrender opens the door to freedom. Let’s get into it!

Christians, Conflict, & Clarity: What Minneapolis Teaches Us: https://afewminuteswiththefew.podbean.com/e/christians-conflict-clarity-what-minneapolis-teaches-us-s6ep47/

Episode Description: Amid conflicting narratives about Renee Good’s shooting, Christians are left asking: What should we think? In this episode we talk media literacy, moral grounding, and how to respond not with fear or division, but with clarity, compassion, and courage. Let’s get into it.

A Rule Of Life For 2026: 26 Things Every Christian Should Consider: https://afewminuteswiththefew.podbean.com/e/a-rule-of-life-for-2026-26-things-every-christian-should-consider-s6ep48/

Episode Description: What if 2026 wasn’t shaped by pressure, trends, or spiritual burnout, but by intention? In this episode, we introduce our “26 Things Christians Should Do in 2026” list as a kind of rule of life, a set of practices meant to anchor believers in faithfulness, not perfection. Rather than rushing through all 26, we both chose a few that challenged us most and talked through why they matter, how they’ve shaped our walk with Christ, and what it looks like to actually live them out in everyday life.

This conversation is meant to point you back to the full list, where each practice is laid out clearly and prayerfully. ➡️ Read the complete “26 Things Christians Should Do in 2026” post here: https://thefew.blog/2026/01/15/twenty-six-things-christians-should-do-in-2026/

Justice, Protest, And Fear: Unpacking The Minneapolis ICE Conflict: https://afewminuteswiththefew.podbean.com/e/justice-protest-and-fear-unpacking-the-minneapolis-ice-conflict-s6ep49/

Episode Description: What does Scripture call Christians to do when the nation feels divided and the headlines feel overwhelming? In this episode, we unpack Romans 13 and explore what it means to respect governing authorities while still caring deeply about justice and human dignity. We talk honestly about why agencies like ICE exist, why their work is often difficult but necessary for maintaining lawful order, and how Christian Conservatives should view the unrest and media narratives surrounding Minneapolis. Rather than reacting out of fear, anger, or political pressure, we challenge believers to respond with biblical discernment, prayerful wisdom, and Kingdom-first thinking in the middle of cultural chaos. Let’s get into it.

The Cost Of Wisdom: Why The Church Avoids It: https://afewminuteswiththefew.podbean.com/e/the-cost-of-wisdom-why-the-church-avoids-it-s6ep50/

Episode Description: If wisdom is so clearly praised in Scripture, why does the Church so often avoid it? In this episode, we explore the uncomfortable reality that biblical wisdom comes at a cost many Christians are unwilling to pay. From our addiction to speed, certainty, and being “right,” to our fear of humility, restraint, and discernment, we examine how the Church has often traded wisdom for influence. This isn’t a call to disengage from culture or politics, but to engage with fear of the Lord, humility, and long-term faithfulness, even when wisdom costs us approval, platforms, or control.
