In the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination and death, it almost feels as if America is holding her breath. Our culture is shaking, our politics are boiling, and the Church is being pressed from every side.
The questions plaguing my mind right now are, “What can I do?” and “How can I be most effective for the Kingdom and for eternity?”
In moments like these, authentic Christians can’t afford to forget the truths that formed Christianity’s firm and unmoving foundation, the very truths that men like Charlie lived to proclaim.
Although Charlie’s death has shaken us, it has also called us to clarity. If you and I lose sight of these truths, we lose more than a person. We risk losing our witness, our courage, and our mission.
These certain truths I am about to list are not optional reminders. No, not at all. They are lifelines for faithfulness in a world that is growing darker by the day.
What You Can’t Afford To Forget Now, Or Ever
- Truth is worth dying for. We can’t water it down, compromise it, or apologize for it. The Church loses her power the moment she makes a trade deal with truth for cultural approval.
- The Church’s role is much, much bigger than comfort. The American Church cannot retreat into safety or silence. We are called to be faithful and trustworthy stewards in the most difficult times, not just when it’s convenient.
- Eternity is real, and urgency is required. Death reminds us we aren’t promised tomorrow. Authentic Christians must live with eternity stamped on their eyelids (as Leonard Ravenhill used to say).
- Faith and politics are not separate. Our faith must shape how we vote, lead, and stand for righteousness in the public square. To retreat from that is to abandon our responsibility.
- The cost of discipleship is rising, but so is the opportunity. Our generation has the chance to carry the torch higher and brighter, but it will mean embracing sacrifice like we never have before.
These are the realities we face, and they demand more than reflection, they demand engagement. So, what does this look like in real life? How do we carry these truths into our families, our communities, and even the public square?
If you’re feeling the weight of these times, the same weight Charlie’s life and death remind us of, you’re not alone. On our podcast, “A Few Minutes With The Few,” we’re talking about what it looks like to live faithfully, stand for truth, and make a difference in the Church and the world.
