(Post by: Scott Hobbs) Blogmas Day Seven 2024
Let’s storm the gates.
I sit here on this 07 Dec 24 reflecting on the 83rd anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack. As I read through my blog post from this same day 3 years ago, my intention was to rework that post; but as I considered how best to do that, I realized it was necessary to just encourage you to read that one again in its original form. You can read it by clicking HERE. It is worthy of remaining untouched in the archives.
I need to start over with a new installment to honor those who sacrificed that day 83 years ago.
The question before us, then, is what would honor the men of that day? What would those that gave their last full measure of devotion to this great nation think about our country today and what we have done with their willing sacrifice?
You see, for the first time since I wrote that original post 3 years ago, I am hopeful that the men of the greatest generation would once again be able to look at what we are doing with their sacrifice and be proud.
It is my sincerely held belief that God is giving us a reprieve from the evil we have seen become so blatant and visible in the past four years. I make no apologies for being a Jesus follower first, a devoted family guy second, and an unwavering, patriotic, constitutional conservative that loves his country. While over the course of these last years I have wondered why the Lord has allowed the evil we have seen to be so rampant, I am reminded this is probably what these men of the Pearl Harbor, WWII era, may have been thinking. How can right be wrong and wrong be right and people just accept it?
They decided to stand up to evil; to fight and commit to giving whatever it takes to support and defend this great American experiment. Not just to defend the boundaries of this our beloved United States, but to defend those around the world that could not defend themselves against the evil that was overtaking them.
I am encouraged to see that beginning to happen again since the election of just a month or so ago. The American spirit rose up again in a historic election mandate.Ā People are finding their voice and stepping out from under the oppression and deception of evil. I see God’s fingerprints all over this.
Perhaps, while I thought it crazy, God allowed the last 4 years to reveal evil to us and give us a choice of whether we would stand against it or just cower to the enemy among us. Let us pray the election was just the beginning of us seeking truth.Ā
God defines truth. This is the truth we can trust and the answer to where our rights and freedoms come from. We must return to God as the very foundation our nation was built on. What does He say about men being created equal and the rights that come with that? The sanctity of life? The great value in, and relationship between, one man and one woman? The beautiful differences in how He made us to be male and female?
We have allowed the enemy to twist God’s truth in subtle ways to try and get us to redefine His truth with ours. That is the fight of our day. We may not be signing up to physically storm the beaches of Normandy as our boys did those 83 years ago; but will we sign up to storm the gates of Hell and reclaim what we have so foolishly allowed the enemy to take? Ā
Because the real answer to our problem, this evil that has been revealed to us, is found in Christmas. It is found in Jesus. There is no other name, no other truth, no other savior. Join me in standing for Him this Christmas season and beyond.Ā Share this great truth with others so they too might be saved and stand for the one real truth.
Let us not waste this reprieve our great God has given us.
Nothing reveals this truth better than Christmas.
So thank you Jesus for the cross, our American military for fighting evil on our behalf, and for the freedom we still have to do Blogmas. There; I brought it all together and you doubted that I could. If Iām honest; so did I.
