(Guest Post by: Rocky Cigler – Blogmas Day Nine)
Glory! So creation is waiting to be glorified, and we should be anticipating that as well! Our current situations have nothing of weight to them when compared to the eternal glory that we have received!
So, imagine being one of the flies on the wall of the manger, seeing OUR LORD AND SAVIOR being born! The promise of the prophets, the promise of Abraham, the promise of GOD.
Imagine feeling the energy, the joy, the majesty of something spectacular!
Now remove any of your current situations or worries from your mind and imagine the view of the fly! A simple part of creation that is a simple nuisance to most! Something that most of humanity rejects and hates! Something that no one really wants around!
Now that fly has been waiting for the day that Jesus would come, because on that day he knows that creation is one step closer to glory, even though he is standing in a pile knee deep! You see, the challenges, the pain, the suffering shouldn’t matter to us! Today I write this on what would’ve been my 25th wedding anniversary! Instead of celebrating it, I am in a prison cell because I took my eyes off of the hope that I relied so much on and instead focused on the pile of suffering that had built itself up around me!
Today, I write not wishing I was a fly so I could escape anymore. Instead, I stand with the mindset that any affliction I experience is but for a moment, and that all afflictions are working, producing, and accomplishing a glory that all of creation is eagerly waiting for!
Jesus said in Matthew 19, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”
The greatest gift given to any of creation was the day Jesus was born, because it was His birth that led to the rejection of Him, which led to the death of Him, which resurrected Him, which glorified Him, and to that which ultimately glorifies us.
In the end, even that fly that I wished to be (and maybe you have as well) will ultimately be impacted by the greatest gift of all times! GLORY!!!
Be careful not be one that is too busy looking at the pile around your knees like I did and lose everything. Instead, be amazed, be in awe, be caught in the sheer energy of the room and gaze in hope and anticipation of the future.
Your current situation, nor any situation you have ever been involved in, is to be compared to the glory that will be revealed in us that is going to be far more fantastic than any other event in history.
Not only for us, but for all of creation, even the fly on the wall!
