There is one song that seems to be on repeat in my mind this morning, and I cannot help but think the Lord is trying to show me something in it, so I am going to bring you along with me as I attempt to discover what that “something” is.
The song is called “Found” by Chris Renzema, and it starts with some beautiful imagery regarding a lost soul getting saved and realizing that they have been found. Truly found.
The song goes…
Take me to the church and I’ll pray, I’ll pray
Take me to the river and I’ll wash my sins away
Take me to the church and I’ll pray, I’ll pray
Take me to the river and I’ll wash my sins away
Away
Yeah, I’ll dance in the water there
I’ll hardly come up for air
‘Cause in the waters of new life, I’m found
All the world is right
This song has always been meaningful to me since the first time I listened to it, because I personally relate with every word of the song. However, the Lord allowed me to witness the sweetest family get baptized together this past weekend, and as I listened to the song again this morning, it became even more meaningful after watching the Lord move mightily in their lives!
They genuinely lived out the lyrics of this song. I wonder, really wonder, if we also are boldly showing a lost world that we have been found.
“All the world is right”. That’s the line I can’t get out of my mind, the one I never want to get over. The Lord has been bringing me back to the basics lately, to the things which truly matter, and I want to remind you today friend, that being found in Jesus is when all the world becomes right.
The song continues…
Would You go with me as I walk this road?
Take me by the hand and lead this wanderer home
Home
There’s still so far for me to climb
If I forget that You are mine
When the road in front of me gets dark
It can seem so far
But in the promise of Your light, I’m found
All the world is right
God challenged me this morning to give Him my hand. Not to take His hand, but to give Him mine. You see, God wants to hold on to us, so that if we happen to let go of Him, we won’t fall.
Don’t you see, dear Christian? This changes the whole dynamic! No longer are we dependent upon the strength we think we may have, but instead on the very Being that sustains us and has the power and ability to keep us alive for the next 15 minutes.
God wants to bless us, but sometimes that means that we must “give in” to what He has for us and what He ultimately wants to be to us. Jesus so desperately wants to be your everything right now, but you have to first give Him your hand. I promise He will never let go.
The song ends with this…
Yeah, I’ll stand with You in the end
I’ll hear You call me a friend
‘Cause when my faith becomes my sight, I’m found
All the world is right
How much have you thought about eternity this week? Have you thought about it at all? For me, those are convicting questions. We tend to think much more about our temporary and fleeting lives here on earth than we do eternity in Heaven, and I believe the reason for that is because we aren’t abiding in the Lord as John 15 commands us to.
Without abiding in Jesus and depending on Him with all that you are, your faith cannot become sight.
All the world is right when we’re living our lives unto the Lord. He’s all that matters.
Are you found?
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in His love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” (John 15:9-11)
SO, WHAT IS YOUR RESPONSE?
= Do you have the joy of the Lord?
= What are you going to do differently?
